In line with our ecological convictions, this show garden will not be destroyed at the close of the festival. It will be dismantled and rebuilt in the grounds of a hospital which is located in the middle of a fine turn of the century landscaped park but where certain frail or disorientated patients are unable to venture alone. The goal is to provide these long term residents with the necessary protected environment for safe, agreeable, daily visits outside which will reinforce their link with nature.

Plant selection will provide a multi-sensory experience. A priority on herbal plants such as rosemary, thym and mint will provide a positive stimulus as well as being restorative. Several wheelchair accessible potting tables will be provided for future gardening workshops planned for 2011. Clear signposting and plant labeling in the herb garden will allow the patients to enjoy and discover the plants independently, an obvious way to maintain and preserve a sense of wellbeing and dignity-a combination for a rich and positive experience
