Jean-Charles Charlet // initiated the project and founded Le Carré des Simples. He dreams is of a city entirely populated by trees and gardens and Cityculteurs.
Jean-Claude graduated from Essec and Stanford. He is an unusual entrepreneur, passionate about people as well as culture and fascinated by nature. Initially, he worked in publishing, and then moved on to publishing music online. He created Le Carré des Simples in 2003, based on the simple idea of a herbalist’s shop, but with a fresh and contemporary feel.
He has found a balance in his professional life today, combining business with teaching. A way for him to express his conviction that business, humanism and social responsibility are not mutually exclusive

Elaine Jarvis // her passion and energy is the driving force behind the Cityculteurs
She is a British landscape gardener, and studied botany and horticulture with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). She has had a long romance with the history of gardens in different culturels and she has created and restored many European gardens.
She is currently in France where she has lived for ten years, and refocused her work around personal convictions on ecology, well-being and biodiversity conservation, and more specifically, "sustainable" and "therapeutic" concepts already well developed in the both Britain and the United States.
